For quite some time, there have been persistent whispers about Atlus potentially re-creating “Persona 4”. Lately, certain trademarks hint that this speculation might be true. Given the success of “Persona 3 Reload”, it’s not entirely unreasonable to expect a remake of their most beloved installment. It was indeed “Persona 4” that kick-started the creation of spinoff games for this series.
There’s been much speculation about whether this remake will eventually surface, given Atlus’ silence on any rumors surrounding it. Despite their active status, with Metaphor: Refantazio being a massive success for them, they’ve remained tight-lipped. Interestingly, someone close to the franchise could have inadvertently confirmed its existence.
Is the Persona 4 remake real?
Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal says yes.
It appears that the voice actor of Spider-Man expressed his disappointment about a rumored Persona 4 remake on the Gaming Leaks subreddit. Lowenthal stated he wouldn’t reprise his role in the remake, despite wanting to do so. He alleges that Atlus didn’t want him back for the project, which is unfortunate news for both the actor and his supporters.
The unusual aspect of this news is that Lowenthal reappeared in Persona 3 Reload, even though he no longer voiced the main character. Instead, he provided the voice for Yukari’s father in a brief appearance. Fans were pleased with this and expected it to continue for the remake of this acclaimed entry. Unfortunately, it appears that won’t happen.
It seems that the rumors about the Persona 4 remake are becoming increasingly credible, with no one at Atlus refuting them yet. For those who appreciate Richard Epcar’s portrayal of Yosuke, the original Golden version is still available to enjoy his iconic voice acting.
