Peter Dinklage Is Optimistic ‘Toxic Avenger’ Reboot Will Get Released and “Have Its Day in the Toxic Sun”

As a die-hard fan who has followed Peter Dinklage‘s career from his humble beginnings to the towering heights of stardom, I can say with utmost conviction that his enthusiasm for “The Toxic Avenger” reboot is infectious. The man has proven time and again that he chooses projects that not only showcase his incredible acting talent but also resonate deeply with audiences.

Peter Dinklage takes great pride in the reboot of “The Toxic Avenger” and can’t wait for even more folks to have a chance to watch it.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but wonder if we might soon witness a broad release of the Emmy-winning movie, considering its phenomenal success following its premiere at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, last year. It was truly a blockbuster!

“Dinklage confessed to ComicBook.com that he’s not involved as a producer, but he does hope the project gets released because it was successful at Fantastic Fest in Austin. The director, Macon Blair who is also in ‘The Thicket’, is amazing and one of my favorites.”

The Game of Thrones alum added, “So hopefully it will have its day in the toxic sun.”

In this modern retelling of the 1984 cult classic film, we find ourselves following the story of Dinklage’s character, Winston Gooze – a janitor who finds himself in a desperate situation when his boss refuses to pay for his life-saving treatment due to an illness that is terminal. In a last-ditch effort to secure his future, Winston commits a robbery at the company. However, his fate takes a drastic turn when he accidentally falls into a vat of toxic waste. From this point on, Winston transforms into the Toxic Avenger – a mutated superhero who sets out to correct the injustices in society.

The horror-comedy, that earned a 92% approval rating from 25 critic reviews following its world debut at Fantastic Fest in September 2023, hasn’t been given a release date as of now.

The reboot also stars Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood and Kevin Bacon.

Previously this year, it was disclosed that Matt Bors and Fred Harper would be collaborating on a new comic titled The Toxic Avenger, published by AHOY Comics. The initial issue of the five-part comic book series is scheduled for release on October 9.
