Actor Paresh Rawal, famously known for his role as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the Hera Pheri series, has expressed his thoughts about the sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, and the upcoming third installment, Hera Pheri 3. In the second part, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh reappeared in their original roles. Despite being a box-office success, Paresh admitted that he felt Phir Hera Pheri didn’t meet the standards set by its predecessor.
In an open conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal expressed his opinion, “Everyone seemed overly confident about the movie. It lost its original charm. Sadly, I must admit, the film wasn’t as great as it was perceived to be.
In my opinion, overloading the scenes seemed to take away from the film’s inherent simplicity. The initial part of the movie was particularly captivating. Moreover, the actor emphasized that maintaining the film’s essence and balance is crucial. He humorously pointed out that people might chuckle at anything; they could find humor in someone running naked, but it’s not necessary to run around without clothes to elicit laughter.
Speaking about his character Baburao, Paresh Rawal expressed that there were many additional aspects that could have been explored in the role.
He expressed his appreciation for the Hera Pheri sequel, likening it to Lage Raho Munna Bhai, a movie he greatly admires due to its exceptional handling of a cherished character. “I can only praise Lage Raho Munna Bhai, the follow-up to Munna Bhai MBBS. That’s a significant improvement. I tip my hat to anyone who manages to create such a sequel,” was his statement.
The OMG character’s portrayer emphasized that any potential follow-up shouldn’t solely focus on generating profits or tweaking jokes; instead, it should thoughtfully develop the character further.
More recently, it’s been confirmed that Kartik Aaryan is no longer involved with Hera Pheri 3. This aligns with previous rumors as Paresh revealed the film’s storyline has been revised, and the upcoming installment will now focus on the original cast of Hera Pheri. As for when we can expect to see the third part, Paresh hinted that filming for this highly anticipated sequel is scheduled to start sometime between August and September.
Enthusiasts of the Hera Pheri series are excited as they anticipate the comeback of their favorite characters, as the original actors prepare to shine once more.
