Despite ongoing plans for a significant revamp of “Pirates of the Caribbean,” Geoffrey Rush, who famously portrayed Captain Hector Barbossa, has given a nuanced reaction to potentially rejoining the new project. Barbossa initially emerged as the cursed captain of the Black Pearl in the inaugural film, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” In “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” Rush’s character cheated death, thanks to Naomie Harris’ Tia Dalma. However, Rush expresses reservations about reprising his role in the upcoming production.
