It’s clear as day that Los Angeles city endured a significant disaster due to the wildfires a month ago, and many individuals are still in the process of picking up the pieces left by this catastrophe.
Regardless, it seems that Niantic intends to carry on with their scheduled Pokemon Go Fest, yet they are not oblivious to the situation.
Pokemon Go Fest is Still Happening
According to the latest update from Niantic (through VGC), the event will indeed proceed as planned at the Rose Bowl Stadium and Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.
Given the current developments in Los Angeles, we are committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of Pasadena, the wider LA region, and our Pokémon Go community. In collaboration with the Rose Bowl Operating Company and local officials, we’ve decided that the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Los Angeles event will go ahead as planned.
As a curious gamer, I’ve heard whispers about hidden spots scattered across town, each one holding a piece of the city-wide puzzle.
“You Get a Refund, Everybody Gets a Refund”

In light of the latest unfortunate incident, it’s been reported that Niantic will provide a refund without any queries for those who purchased tickets for the event.
Anyone who purchased a ticket is eligible for a $30 refund, but remember to submit your request before the event, which is scheduled for February 23rd.
Supporting the Local Community
Although it might appear thoughtless of Niantic to proceed with their event, there’s a chance that the city could benefit from the commerce, given the anticipation of many visitors coming to LA for Pokemon Go Fest.
Niantic is planning to assist local communities, though specific details are yet to be determined. They’ve shared that they will disclose their strategies at a future time.
What Can Fans Expect at Pokemon Go Fest?
To this point, it appears that Niantic has a plethora of plans for the upcoming event, which predates the fires that occurred last month. At present, Pokemon Go is in the midst of the Dual Destiny Season, with an anticipated conclusion slated for March 4.
During the gathering, attendees will have an opportunity to preview the forthcoming content for the upcoming season, and they’ll even witness the first appearance of two renowned Pokémon: Black Kyurem and White Kyurem.
Without a doubt, it’s likely that some unique content will only be accessible during the event for players. After all, Pokémon Go is a game centered around walking to specific places, so it’s safe to assume that attendees will want to take advantage of the event if they hope to catch any rare Pokémon exclusive to Pokémon Go Fest.
For more information on the event, you can check out the official site here.
Pokemon Go Fest is set to take place in LA, California on Feb. 23.
