- Niantic will debut a new Catch-a-thon event, seeing the return of former Community Day exclusive Pokémon
- You’ll get another chance to grab exclusive rewards!
- There’s also a chance to get Shiny versions of featured ‘mons
As a dedicated Pokémon Go player with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel excited about Niantic’s upcoming Catch-a-thon event! Missing out on community events is always a bummer, especially when it comes to catching rare Pokémon with friends. But fear not, for the end-of-year catch-a-thon is here to give us another chance to grab exclusive rewards and maybe even some Shiny versions of our favorite ‘mons!
As a dedicated fan, it’s always disappointing when I can’t attend the best community gatherings, especially in Pokémon Go where we have the chance to catch rare Pokémons alongside friends. However, if this year slipped past you, don’t worry, there’s good news! Niantic is all set to introduce an exclusive end-of-year Catch-a-thon event, exclusively for us!
The Pokémon event, titled “Catch-a-thon,” will take place on both Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd, from 2 pm to 5 pm in your local time zone. During this period, you’ll encounter special Pokémon and receive unique rewards. The highlighted Pokémon for each day are as follows:
- December 21st: Bellsprout, Chansey, Goomy, Rowlet, Litten and Bounsweet.
- December 22nd: Mankey, Ponyta, Galarian Ponyta, Sewaddle, Tynamo and Popplio.
During the last ten minutes of every hour, you’ll get an opportunity to find Porygon, Cyndaquil, Bagon, and Beldum. Additionally, catching Pokemon will earn you double XP, double Stardust, and a variety of other bonuses for this special, time-limited event. There’s plenty more to enjoy during this exclusive end-of-year event than you can fit on a single Pokéball, so don’t forget to check out all the details on the official Pokémon Go website!
Like no one ever was
This year has been significant for Pokémon Go with introductions like Gigantamax and other notable features. Therefore, it’s no wonder Niantic is planning to draw us back in for another major community event before the end of the year. Typically, I might be skeptical about holding an event so close to the holidays, but I know that many Pokémon Go enthusiasts are passionate enough that a cold winter day won’t keep them away.
