Pokémon Go will welcome three forms of Tatsugiri in the upcoming Water Festival

  • The event takes place on July 15th to 20th
  • Three forms of Tatsugiri will appear based on region
  • Other water-type Pokémon will also show up frequently

If you’re trying to escape the summer heat, Pokémon Go provides a fun reason to do so! The Water Festival is back from July 15th to 20th, offering an abundance of water-themed experiences, including encounters with various aquatic creatures, raid battles, and the introduction of Tatsugiri in three different versions. Regardless if you’re in Europe, the Americas, or Asia-Pacific, this mimicry Pokémon will make its first appearance near your location during this event.

In Pokémon Go, the regional variants of Tatsugiri named Curly, Droopy, and Stretchy will successively dominate local raids based on your location. Additionally, Lapras adorned with a scarf returns in style, offering a chance for a seasonal special backdrop if you’re fortunate. Furthermore, the appearance of Shiny Staryu and Shiny Tirtouga increases, and there are additional Candy rewards when you make accurate throws at opportune moments.

Alongside these, you’ll encounter diverse water-type Pokémon in the wild, such as Wimpod, Buizel, and Barboach. In one-star and three-star raids, powerful water-type Pokémon like Azumarill and Gyarados will appear. To prepare for this occasion, you can buy the Water Festival Ultra Box from the Pokémon Go Web Store. This box will contain numerous useful items.

Exploring Topic-Based Investigations offers Mega Energy and additional encounters as rewards. Purchasing a Time-Limited Research ticket for $4.99 provides extra items such as a Rainy Attract Lure, event character pose, and various water-themed bonuses. Additionally, new backpacks inspired by Tatsugiri, available in the store, are designed to complement each of its three unique appearances.

Redeem these to get yourself a bunch of freebies!

Between two upcoming Ultra Unlock events, Hisui Celebration and Steel and Scales, the Water Festival will take place in between. With appearances from Hisuian Zorua to Honedge, July promises to be a busy month for Pokémon Go players. And don’t forget that Pokémon Go’s ninth anniversary festivities are still ongoing, so enjoy them while you can!
