- Pokémon TCG Pocket has launched its hotly-anticipated trading feature
- But reception seems to have been somewhat frosty
- Fortunately, there’s also a brand new expansion with Space-Time Smackdown to enjoy!
As we approach the end of January, ardent enthusiasts of the Pokémon TCG Pocket can look forward to an additional reason for joy. The highly anticipated trading feature is launching today, accompanied by a significant new expansion called Space-Time Smackdown!
To start off, what exactly is trading? Essentially, it enables you to swap cards with your friends, much like you would in real life. However, there are some limitations such as only specific rarities (1-4 and 1-star) can be traded and the requirement of resources (trade hourglasses and trade tokens) for trading. Nevertheless, this feature significantly enhances the gameplay experience.
Not only is there trading to be done, but also an exciting new expansion called Space-Time Smackdown has arrived! This includes the introduction of legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia in the TCG Pocket. Additionally, you’ll find the Sinnoh region starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, along with many other new additions!
Ice-type
Indeed, it’s understandable that some people aren’t thrilled with the latest trading addition, as it seems to have been met with a chill response. Given my perspective, I find it unsurprising because although I believe this new feature offers valuable benefits and has been implemented thoughtfully, the numerous conditions attached to it is clearly a significant challenge.
It seems to me that the Pokémon TCG Pocket game could have benefited more if trading wasn’t included or if it was completely free without any resource limitations or restrictions on traded cards. Fortunately, it appears that the developers are monitoring the feature’s response, which may suggest potential changes aren’t too far off.
