Pokemon TCG’s first Paradise Dragona cards revealed at World Championships

Pokemon TCG's first Paradise Dragona cards revealed at World Championships

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the Paradise Dragona cards have me reminiscing about my childhood and the thrill of collecting Pokemon cards. The nostalgia is palpable, especially with the focus on Dragon-type Pokemon, which has always been a favorite of mine since the early days of Gen 3.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t contain my excitement as I lay my eyes on the stunning new Pokemon TCG Paradise Dragona cards for the very first time! Even though these cards won’t hit the shelves in Japan until September 13, it’s clear that collectors like me are going to splurge a pretty penny to get our hands on each one of them. Being the seventh set launched during the Scarlet & Violet era, it comes as no surprise that Paradise Dragona is all about Dragon-type Pokemon.

Instead of feeling let down by the Stellar Tera-type Alolan Exeggutor box art, the Pokemon World Championships has shifted opinions with a sneak peek at the initial set of Paradise Dragona cards. With dragons as the central theme on some visually appealing cards, everyone will be eager to add these to their collection.

Latia and Latios are a highlight of Paradise Dragona

According to PokeBeach, the standout points are the scarcely found Latias and Latios cards, which share similar artwork. This unique connection has collectors eagerly anticipating obtaining this elusive duo. These cards are likely to command a high price when resold on various online platforms.

Beyond just their appearance, these cards boast some remarkable statistics. Latios’ Jet Headbutt inflicts 110 points of damage, while Skill Dive impacts both Benched and Active Pokémon. Latias’ Eon Blade delivers an even more substantial 200 points of damage but prevents it from attacking the following turn. Additionally, there’s a Skyline Ability that allows Basic Pokémons to escape battle without needing to pay a Retreat Cost.

The set has been a huge hit online, with fans even claiming they’ll come out of collecting retirement to nab Latios and Latias. One cheered, “Not even a fan of these from Gen 3 but these cards go hard and will be mine,” while another added, “That is how you get Pokémon fans to get excited 🐲.”

One individual commented, “It’s great news that we’ll own these! Now I won’t have to consider selling a kidney for the Team Up alt art because I can acquire these alternatives instead,” and another person decided, “I’m retiring from collecting with this set.” Although some dissatisfaction arose due to Latias being SAR (textured), we’re confident you’ll move past it.

1. It’s anticipated that these cards will come out in English within November’s Surging Sparks collection, but we haven’t received official confirmation yet. Mark your calendars for September 13th, a significant day for Pokémon fans, as it also happens to be the release date for the Stellar Crown expansion. Brace yourself, as this could mean a hefty dent in your wallets.
