The popular streaming series, “Poker Face,” created by Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson, is coming back this year. And let me tell you, the roster of celebrities they’ve lined up for Season 2 is downright astounding! If I were the one responsible for casting this show, I’d be shouting it from every corner, because this lineup? It’s a dream come true – an incredible assembly of the wittiest and most skilled comedic actors working in Hollywood today.
It appears that Lyonne and Johnson are hinting at something, as they included a message with their press release about the upcoming episodes of the series. While we don’t have an exact premiere date yet (only knowing it will air in Spring 2025), we do know that each of the 12, one-hour episodes will boast an impressive lineup of talented actors. Trust us, take a look at the new images (see below!) if you don’t believe us. Get ready to be amazed!
The New Season Of ‘Poker Face’ Already Looks So Good I Can’t Stand It!
Accompanying the aforementioned images is a message penned by Johnson and Lyonne that hints at the destinations for Charlie Cale’s journeys during this season. You can find the entire text of their note below if you wish to read it.
In the second season, Charlie Cale resumes her escapades, and we’ve amplified her odyssey, filled with intriguing murder mysteries. From minor league baseball fields to massive retail stores, from funeral parlors to alligator farms and even a school talent show, Charlie traverses her crime-solving, existential road trip using her distinctive dry humor, compassion for others, and remarkable knack for detecting lies.
To breathe life into Season 2, we drew visual influences from ’70s American cinema, which holds a special place in our hearts, including directors like Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, and Peter Bogdanovich. However, the foundation of this series is rooted in television – the kind of TV that shaped our childhood, with weekly mystery cases reminiscent of shows such as Columbo, The Rockford Files, Quantum Leap. Each episode serves as a standalone movie, set within its own distinct atmosphere and mood, populated by an array of offbeat characters played by an incredible roster of guest stars. It’s still hard to believe we were fortunate enough to collaborate with talented individuals such as Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, Awkwafina (and many more whose names make the list seem almost overwhelming). They all embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm and came prepared to entertain.
Twelve killer new episodes are coming your way. Buckle up and see you on the road!
And seriously — the guest star list is truly unhinged (and we mean that in the best way possible):
- Alia Shawkat (Blink Twice, Search Party)

It seems there are actually more famous guests lined up for the show than previously thought! It’s hard to believe, isn’t it? Without a doubt, we’ll be eagerly waiting when this reality-style crime drama makes its way back onto our TVs.
