Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are gearing up for another collaboration, this time bringing to life the story of Phalke, who is famously known as the ‘Father of Indian cinema.’

The forthcoming biographical movie is expected to unfold against the historical backdrop of India’s fight for independence. It will narrate the story of Dadasaheb Phalke, an artist who began with nothing and laid the groundwork for what eventually grew into the world’s biggest film industry.

For nearly five years, I’ve been passionately following the evolution of this script – every twist, every turn, under the meticulous guidance of Rajkumar Hirani. Alongside him, my beloved collaborator Abhijat Joshi, as well as the brilliant duo Hindukush Bharadwaj and Avishkar Bharadwaj, have been diligently crafting this masterpiece.

Based on recent news, Aamir Khan plans to begin preparing for his next movie shortly after the release of his upcoming comedy, Sitaare Zameen Par. Filming is expected to start in October 2025. To make the film as authentic as possible, Visual Effects (VFX) studios from Los Angeles have been hired to produce AI-generated visuals that accurately represent the film’s historical setting.

Moreover, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, the grandson of Dadasaheb Phalke, has also lent his support by offering anecdotes and personal insights for the project. Notably, in September 2023, SS Rajamouli revealed that Made In India would be produced by Varun Gupta (Max Studios) and SS Karthikeya (Showing Business). Since then, Rajamouli has been meticulously crafting the script, and now Jr NTR has consented to join the project.

As a devoted follower, I’ve learned from a reliable insider that the actor from War 2 was left utterly astonished by the lesser-known narratives surrounding this legendary figure.
