As a dedicated fan here, I’ve recently noticed that stars like Lisa from Blackpink, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Kim Kardashian, and David Beckham have been seen with adorable plush figurines from a Chinese collectibles brand. These figurines are inspired by “The Monsters,” a book series created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, which delves into the realm of good versus evil creatures, drawing inspiration from Nordic mythology. The Monsters are these delightfully curious elves, roughly the size of an average house cat, who have a knack for innocent mischief. One of these characters is Labubu, known for his kind heart and eagerness to help, but unfortunately, his actions often lead to unintended consequences.

Monsters are typically sold for $19.99 at Pop Mart, a store chain with over 20 locations across the United States and ambitious plans to establish over 200 more stores in the U.S. in the near future, as reported by Modern Retail. For diehard fans, a summer trip could be planned to one of these retail outlets. Moreover, devotees can also travel to Pop Mart’s Pop Land theme park in Beijing, where this nearly 10-acre attraction houses life-sized Monsters.
After being seen on popular global celebrities, Labubu has turned into a sought-after investment item for 2025, leading to a significant surge of at least 300% in monthly sales at Kicks Crew and live shopping app WhatNot, among others. Kicks Crew reports that sales increased by 62% from March to April, and then skyrocketed by 174% from April to May. The platform further mentions that Pop Mart’s Monsters have outperformed footwear brands significantly, with Nike and Adidas sales dropping by 7-8%, while Jordan Brand saw a minor increase of only 7%. However, these numbers pale in comparison to Labubu’s extraordinary growth trajectory, as stated in a recent blog post. (In other words, investing in Labubu might be more profitable than buying a Birkin.)
Check out some items from Monsters Wacky Mart’s selection displayed below, and get ready to purchase from the currently out-of-stock collection at Kicks Crew today at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET online here (remember to use code THR5 for a discount of $5 or more).
On June 13, 7 a.m. Pacific Time / 10 a.m. Eastern Time, Shop Kicks Crew will release their exclusive stock of Pop Mart’s already sold-out Monsters Wacky Mart collection online. You can access it here.
