Netflix has given the go-ahead for a crime drama, which is fittingly crafted by an expert in the field – Courtney Kemp, the mind behind ‘Power’.
The streamer has chosen a show called “Nemesis,” produced by Tani Marole and overseen by Kemp as showrunner. This series follows the narrative of two contrasting characters – one a criminal mastermind and the other a tenacious detective – both entrenched on opposite sides of the law. As described in the synopsis, this story delves into the consequences when an unrelenting force collides with an immovable object. The plot promises to challenge the conventions of heist stories, layering it with high-stakes drama, complex family dynamics, and intense action sequences. However, beneath these elements, the narrative will also delve deeper into the psychological aspects that fuel, support, and ultimately undermine these characters.
The series represents the initial output from Kemp’s wider agreement with Netflix, following her six-year tenure at television production company Lionsgate, which is known for the Power franchise.
More to come.
