The movie “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan, is one of the most cherished Bollywood films. The poignant death scene of Aman remains deeply impactful for many viewers. In a recent interaction on X, Zinta explained why this Nikkhil Advani-directed production holds a special significance in her heart.
On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of hosting a Q&A session on my platform (previously known as Twitter), where the online community bombarded me with intriguing questions. One admirer praised my acting in “Kal Ho Naa Ho” and confessed to shedding tears galore while watching it.
He expressed, “Dear Preity Zinta, each time I watch ‘Kal Ho Na Ho,’ I weep as if I were a child. Your portrayal of Naina Catherine Kapur was exceptional. I also learned a valuable lesson: love sometimes involves letting go.
Preity sympathized deeply with the confession and then offered a related experience. She remembered that during that same period, the entire team was equally emotional both on set and off. Furthermore, the actress divulged that she herself had tragically lost her first love during those times.
She openly admitted, “I do shed tears when I watch it, and even during filming, my emotions were overwhelming. You see, my first love tragically passed away in a car accident, which makes this movie particularly poignant for me. An interesting trivia – most of the scenes were filmed with real tears from the actors. In fact, the scene depicting Aman’s death brought tears to everyone on set, both in front and behind the camera.
Take a look
Under the direction of Nikkhil Advani, Kal Ho Naa Ho showcased Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, Jaya Bachchan, and other prominent actors in pivotal roles. This film is renowned for its moving narrative and emotionally resonant soundtrack.
Professionally speaking, Preity Zinta is immersed in the ongoing IPL games since she owns the Punjab Kings team. Furthermore, she’s preparing for her return to films with Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947, a movie that takes place during the India-Pakistan partition. The film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan’s production house, Aamir Khan Productions.
TopMob exclusively informed you last year that Sunny is looking to release the film by August 2025.
