‘Pretty Little Liars’ Reboot Canceled at Max

As a dedicated gamer and binge-watcher who’s seen his fair share of twists and turns in the world of TV, I must admit, this news about Pretty Little Liars’ untimely demise has left me utterly bewildered. Just when the girls were starting to unravel the latest mystery, Max pulls the plug! It’s like solving a puzzle only to find out there was no box to put it in.

The Pretty Little Liars sequel/reboot at Max is done after two seasons.

The live stream host has called off the program, which was a spooky reinterpretation of the mystery series that ABC Family/Freeform aired during the 2010s. This action was made approximately three months following the conclusion of “PLL’s” second season, titled “Summer School,” in June.

Max has decided against a third season of ‘Pretty Little Liars’, but we are deeply thankful to Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Lindsay Calhoon Bring and the Warner Bros. Television team for reviving this version of the liar characters. They brought back the thrill of the original series, with a fresh, contemporary twist, all while keeping the dark, suspenseful atmosphere that fans love. The incredible talent of our cast and crew truly made the show come alive.

The second season concluded with a hint of further scary moments, featuring a gang of girls donning masks similar to the five main characters, strolling along the corridor of their high school. This intriguing scene is left unresolved for now.

In September 2020, the reboot of “Pretty Little Liars” received a direct-to-order series at HBO Max. The series, originally titled “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” made its debut on July 28, 2022. Shortly after its final episode, it was quickly renewed for a second season.

In season two, actors Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Alex Aiono, Jordan Gonzalez, and Elias Kacavas appeared. The Warner Bros. TV series was co-executive produced by Aguirre-Sacasa (from Riverdale) and Bring, along with Marlene King – the creator of Pretty Little Liars, Leslie Morgenstein, and Gina Girolamo from Alloy Entertainment, and Michael Grassi.

TVLine first reported the cancellation.
