Prime Videos Secret Level Trailer Leak Reveals Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart & More Will Star

As a lifelong cinephile and video game enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for Amazon’s upcoming anthology series, Secret Level. The fact that Tim Miller, the brilliant mind behind Love, Death & Robots, is at the helm of this project is already a promising sign. But when I heard about the star-studded cast that includes heavyweights like Keanu Reeves, Kevin Hart, Temuera Morrison, and many more, my anticipation reached an all-time high.

Not only well-known video games, but also a talented ensemble of popular actors will feature in Amazon’s upcoming anthology series, Secret Level. Created by Tim Miller, who brought us Love, Death & Robots, this series explores unique tales within the worlds of some iconic video games. While we already knew Keanu Reeves would be involved with one episode due to a previous trailer, a leaked second preview has now hinted at several other recognizable faces and voices.

Initially revealed by MP1st before being taken down, a now-deleted teaser trailer showcased an impressive lineup of stars set to appear on the TV series Secret Level. Alongside Keanu Reeves, the show will feature Kevin Hart, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt, Emily Swallow, Gabriel Luna, Claudia Doumit, Heaven Hart, Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridgem, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Michael Beach, and Clive Standen. The trailer was swiftly taken offline via a takedown request, but fans are eagerly awaiting the official release of this footage in the near future.

In the world of video games, several cast members have become regulars. For instance, Claudia Doumit, famously known for her role in “The Boys,” takes on Farah Karim in the cherished “Call of Duty” series. Kevin Hart, too, made video games come alive on the big screen when he starred in Eli Roth’s adaptation of “Borderlands.” However, he might prefer if we all forget about that movie. The upcoming film, “Secret Level,” is set for release on December 10, 2024.

Why Has a Video Game Anthology Taken So Long?

As a gaming enthusiast, I must commend Tim Miller’s brilliant idea of crafting an anthology series around video games. The cinematic world is continually testing the waters with game adaptations, both on the silver and small screens. Last year and the start of this one were triumphant with hits like “The Last of Us” and “Fallout,” effectively banishing the infamous ‘video game curse.’ However, the latter half of 2024 may bring more setbacks if we consider the rocky launch of “Borderlands” and the looming release of “A Minecraft Movie,” which leaves the fan community rather apprehensive.

As a passionate gamer and movie enthusiast, I firmly believe that transforming cherished video game franchises into an anthology series offers an innovative approach for assessing which titles could thrive on the big screen. Secret Level, a collection of such games, has long been a dream come true for fans like me who’ve yearned to see these stories unfold on the silver screen. Interestingly, popular titles like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and Warhammer 40k (all part of Secret Level) are already in development for movie adaptations. Crafting an anthology series provides a low-risk platform for filmmakers to experiment with adapting the games, allowing for creative freedom without significant consequences.

Unlike a major Hollywood film that could potentially harm a video game’s reputation, one poorly received episode in an anthology series will have minimal impact on the popular standing of a video game. In addition to the previously mentioned games, the upcoming anthology series, Secret Level, features stories centered around Concord, Armored Core, Dungeons & Dragons, Crossfire, Honor of Kings, PAC-MAN, Exodus, The Outer Worlds, Sifu, Mega Man, and many others.
