Private Party Has A Massive Title Defense At AEW Full Gear. Here’s The Team They’re Looking Out For The Most

As a long-time wrestling enthusiast who has witnessed countless matches and championship bouts, I must say that the upcoming AEW Full Gear event has me buzzing with anticipation! The four-way tag team match featuring Private Party, The Outrunners, Kings of the Black Throne, and The Acclaimed is shaping up to be a spectacle not to be missed.

In less than a month after winning their first AEW World Tag Team Championship from The Young Bucks, establishing themselves as the dominant tag team in the company, Private Party is gearing up for a significant four-way match at Full Gear. However, there’s one team they are focusing on the most ahead of this weekend’s AEW pay-per-view event.

Prior to their upcoming four-cornered tag team contest against The Outrunners, Kings of the Black, and The Acclaimed – a match marking their first title defense – Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen engaged in a discussion with TopMob. They delved into what led them here and their future plans. When queried about their strategies for one of Full Gear’s most significant matches (in terms of importance and participants), Kassidy offered the following response:

Just as I always do before every game, I make sure to turn up, present my best self, and get ready to put up a strong fight. With each victory against our opponents, I sense that we’re taking giant strides towards even greater achievements.

Which of the three teams do Kassidy and Quen seem to support the most? The Outrunners, with their nostalgic ’80s wrestling personas, could give them a run for their money. Similarly, Kings of the Black Throne also appear to be strong contenders, given their numerous title reigns and overpowering physique.

However, the Private Party is particularly interested in team number four, The Acclaimed (comprising Anthony Bowens and Max Caster). As Kassidy explained, there’s a solid rationale behind this interest.

The Acclaimed boasts the highest number of wins in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). They were previously the AEW Tag Team Champions and Trios Champions. My goal is to defeat them because we want to establish these championships firmly and solidify ourselves as the premier tag team in AEW. Currently, The Acclaimed has a large bullseye on their back, and I’m directly aiming for it.

Regardless of their past victories and successes in AEW, Marq Quen didn’t seem overly concerned that The Acclaimed might dethrone them in the upcoming match. In fact, Marq shared how his past history with Max Caster could be a factor in this contest.

Absolutely. I’ll put it this way: It’s quite straightforward. Here’s a fun tidbit: During one of Max Castor’s performances in the ring, he stumbled and lost his words. At that moment, I realized if we could apply a chokehold, we had already won. That was our strategy. Not everyone is a fan of The Acclaimed, myself included.

Marq Quen might not cherish The Acclaimed, but wrestling enthusiasts have plenty of reasons to be thrilled about AEW at the moment, as the Full Gear event is looking to be one of the top cards in all of wrestling this year. With Jon Moxley safeguarding his AEW World Title against Orange Cassidy just over a month after annihilating Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream, Swerve Strickland facing off against Bobby Lashley, and several other matches on the roster, there’s much to look forward to.

To catch Private Party defending their tag team titles against The Acclaimed, Kings of the Black, and The Outrunners, don’t forget to tune in to Full Gear at 8 p.m. ET this coming Saturday on TrillerTV, YouTube, or through your regular cable and satellite providers.
