As a seasoned gamer of both the virtual and physical sneaker worlds, I must say that the A$AP Rocky x PUMA Inhale OG is a masterpiece that strikes a chord with my soul. With its vintage aesthetic and authentic aged look, it seems to have been plucked straight out of my dusty collection of forgotten gems. The hyperrealistic patina, the beige upper made of varying tones, and the yellowed soles with black skid marks all scream “classic” in a way that only the best sneakers do.
ASAP Rocky and PUMA recently unveiled fresh visuals of the pre-worn Inhale OG, a retro running shoe that was first presented in 2000. The duo reintroduced this classic design back in May as part of their Formula 1 collaboration.
In a fresh take, this latest duo preserves the authentic aero shape unveiled earlier in the year. Employing a lifelike weathered effect, the upper portions are crafted from a khaki twill fabric that appears undyed, leading to a distressed look of wear and tear.
As a fan, I’d say for this design, the striking red arch bandage has been swapped with a beige upper that boasts a blend of shades. The soles have acquired a yellowed patina and sport black skid marks, lending an authentic vintage feel to the pair. And peeking out on the tongue is a bold, embroidered “Flacko” logo in red.
For the latest AWGE Paris Fashion Week show titled “American Sabotage,” the rapper collaborated with PUMA to provide the footwear. This aligns well with his collection that includes distressed and well-worn styles like the Inhale OG.
The A$AP Rocky x PUMA Inhale OG will be available online and in stores on September 26.
