PUMA Invites Creatives to Channel Their Inner Mostro at PFW Takeover

The 1999-born PUMA Mostro is still thriving from its nostalgic return to the market. Following its relaunch last year, the design has sparked fresh collaborations and updates, while taking center stage in the brand’s FW24 presentation. With its recent surge in popularity, PUMA made a comeback to Paris Fashion Week this season, showcasing another unique tribute to the Mostro.

For four consecutive days, the PUMA Mostro House served as a fusion of studio and exhibition space, where the brand’s creative partners like Uniform Display, Cold Archive, and others convened to conduct workshops and interactive displays. On the initial day, content creator Emmanuel Akinte, along with other fashion enthusiasts, flocked to Le Marais district for a sneak peek of the event. He documented his experience in a fresh series titled “Day in the Life“.

At the start of a bustling Wednesday, Akinte donned a stylish ensemble consisting of roomy denim jeans, a collared leather jacket, and PUMA Mostro sneakers. Once prepared, he ventured towards the activation, its unique tentacle-style archway contrasting distinctly against the monotonous backdrop of the area’s white buildings. Upon entering, the distinctive flavor of the Mostro brand was evident in the decor, from the graphic wall art to the industrial-inspired podiums and metal worktables.

In this event, footwear experts Hart Copy and collectors Inside Tag carefully selected a range of unique PUMA sneakers, some of which were previously unseen by attendees. The exhibit also showcased sneak peeks of upcoming releases. Following the exhibition rooms, participants were guided to a customization workshop run by Studio Hagel’s team. Here, along with other artists, they transformed an all-black leather pair into a striking design featuring lime-green eyeball embellishments, drawing inspiration from the monster aesthetic and creating a truly “magnifique” look.

Before attending the PUMA after-party organized by Slam Jam, Akinte unexpectedly enjoyed a DJ performance by Skepta, one of PUMA’s collaborators. Afterward, he took a leisurely walk towards the Eiffel Tower for some sightseeing. Later on, he reconnected with other fashion week attendees at a venue illuminated in blue on Rue Belhomme, where Evian Christ played four hours of trance music.
