As a seasoned researcher with over two decades of experience in the digital marketplace, I must admit that the surge in revenue for Pump.fun is nothing short of astonishing. The numbers speak for themselves – an unprecedented $82.78 million in November alone. However, this meteoric rise has not come without controversy.
In an unprecedented achievement, Pump.fun hit a new record for its monthly income, earning an impressive $82.78 million in November. This figure represents a remarkable increase of 207% compared to the previous month.
Based on figures from DeFi Llama, pump.fun’s income for November reached an all-time high of $82.78 million, a record since its debut in March 2024. With the month still ongoing, it’s expected that this figure will continue to grow. So far, it has accounted for over 35% of its total accumulated earnings.
In November, the launchpad experienced an enormous surge in user activity and transactions, as its monthly income skyrocketed by 207%, reaching approximately $101.65 million compared to just $30.5 million in October. This significant boost suggests a substantial increase in platform-related activities during that month.
According to Dune’s statistics, often referred to as the bustling marketplace for meme coins, it witnessed an all-time high of 69,046 Solana-backed tokens launched on November 20th this year, setting a new record. Over the past fortnight, pump.fun has recorded a massive trading volume amounting to $4.15 billion.
Although there’s a noticeable increase in user engagement on the platform pump.fun, it’s currently facing criticism due to its livestream function. This functionality has unfortunately been exploited by some coin creators who streamed harmful content containing self-injury and risky behaviors.
After a wave of online criticism and worries about content management on the platform, the livestream function introduced on pump.fun in August 2024 has now been temporarily suspended.
The team addressed the community’s worries about safety, taking extra steps such as deleting inappropriate material and marking adult-oriented content as such.
On November 23rd, the founder of pump.fun, Alon, spoke about this matter in a public post. He asserted that the team at pump.fun has diligently monitored and moderated site content since its initial launch.
In the post, Alon mentioned, “Our operation includes a sizable group of moderators who are always on duty, as well as an internal engineering team that’s dedicated to handling the growing volume of coins, broadcasts, and comments.
Although content moderation is in place, Alon acknowledged its imperfections. Consequently, the founder emphasized the importance of users reporting any potentially harmful content through pump.fun’s support systems.
