Quinta Brunson Files for Divorce From Kevin Anik, Husband of Three Years

Quinta Brunson has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Kevin Anik.

According to documents from The Hollywood Reporter, the lead actor and creator of Abbott Elementary recently filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court, stating “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. The exact date they separated is yet to be determined.

The document mentioned a postnuptial agreement was made by the couple, outlining how their assets should be handled. Brunson asked that all property either be given to them individually or divided according to this agreement’s terms, and each party cover their respective legal costs.

THR reached out to Brunson’s rep for comment.

Brunson and Anik got married in October 2021, following a multi-year courtship. This couple was very secretive about their romance, with Brunson seldom acknowledging her spouse in public, like when she gave him a shoutout upon receiving her Emmy Awards.

If I don’t get another chance to be here, I want to express my gratitude to my mom, dad, brothers, sisters, cousins, and my remarkable husband who has always been incredibly supportive. I also owe thanks to my exceptional cast and crew for assisting me in creating this show and the pilot. She conveyed these sentiments during her 2022 acceptance speech for outstanding writing for a comedy series for Abbott Elementary.

During the 2023 awards, Brunson was honored with an Emmy for exceptional performance in a comedy series as Janine Teagues, in recognition of her outstanding portrayal on the popular sitcom.

Currently, “Abbott Elementary” is broadcasting its fourth series, and fresh episodes are available every Wednesday on ABC. Additionally, the show has already been given a green light for a fifth season.
