Kate Robin, known for her work on ‘Six Feet Under’ and ‘The Affair’, will be the showrunner. Additionally, Sharon Horgan under her production company Merman, and Jason Winer via his Small Dog Picture Company, are also part of the team as executive producers. The series is being produced by 20th Television.
The storyline for “Vladimir” is: A woman (Weisz) finds herself spiraling as she develops an intense fixation on her intriguing work companion. Filled with alluring mysteries, dark wit, and multidimensional characters, the film “Vladimir” explores the dangerous consequences when a woman determinedly pursues transforming her dreams into reality.
Tracey Pakosta, vice president of comedy series at Netflix, expressed her excitement about a project featuring Kate Robin’s knack for creating intricate, darkly comical female narratives. This script delves into the depths of attraction and ethical dilemmas, with Rachel Weisz spearheading an exceptional female-driven cast. Pakosta refers to this as a remarkable union of skilled women in the industry. She’s eager for Netflix fans to become equally captivated by Vladimir as the team is.
Horgan expressed, ‘I was smitten by Julia’s writing right from the start. I feel incredibly fortunate and extremely enthusiastic about Merman producing Vladimir. It’s a joy to collaborate with Netflix and have Rachel involved. This partnership is exhilarating, and it underscores the exceptional quality of the scripts.’
