Version 1.3.400
The beta version of Rainbow Six Mobile is now available for Android users, and we’ve been playing it for two weeks. Kudos to Ubisoft for successfully transferring the Rainbow Six experience onto mobile devices! If you’ve recently downloaded the game and are curious about which operators are top-tier, then look no further. Here is our Rainbow Six Mobile rankings, listing all available operators from best to least effective.
About the game
Rainbow Six Mobile is a free-to-play tactical
shooter
. It’s developed and published by Ubisoft Montreal and is scheduled to release worldwide later this year. It will be the eighteenth installment in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Franchise and the first to develop the series since Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard.
Rainbow Six Siege serves as a significant inspiration, yet it isn’t just a simple adaptation for mobile devices. Instead, it has been specifically designed and developed ground-up for smartphones, encompassing elements from the entire franchise.
In Rainbow Six Mobile, you join 5-versus-5 skirmishes, where teams are split into attackers and defenders. The attackers aim to accomplish a task such as disarming bombs or seizing territory, while the defenders work to thwart them. The round concludes when all players on one team are eliminated, or when a team successfully completes its mission. This action-packed game is all about teamwork and strategically damaging your surroundings.
Background
Before jumping into a match, roles are allotted to each team. You have to choose an operator based on your team’s role. For example, if your team becomes an attacker, you must select one of the attacker operators available. There cannot also be multiple of the same operator. If someone has already selected Sledge, you will have to pick someone else. (The default Atk and Def recruit is an exception to this.)
To begin with your adventure, you’ll have access to both Attack and Defense recruiters, but as you advance, more operators will become accessible. Currently, a total of 18 operators are available, divided equally between attackers and defenders. Once you’ve unlocked around six to seven operators, it can get quite challenging to determine the most effective ones. That’s where our Rainbow Six Mobile tier list proves particularly useful.
Rainbow Six Mobile tier list
In our Rainbow Six Mobile tier list, we have categorised the operators into various tiers – S, A, B, and C based on their strengths, weapon loadout, and ability. Operators in tier S are the most powerful options, and you should try to choose them, while you should avoid those in tier C.
Moving forward, we’ll see additional operators joining our roster, along with adjustments to their performance balances. This means that certain operators may become stronger while others may see a decrease in power. To keep our ranking system current and reflective of the most recent game changes, we plan to regularly revise this tier list.

1 Rainbow Six Mobile – Tier S
In Rainbow Six Mobile, the operators at the highest tier of the rankings are your optimal choices. These characters are exceptionally powerful and provide a significant advantage in combat.
Hibana is an excellent choice for an attacker, but I personally opt for Sledge due to his user-friendly nature and unique ability to breach walls, opening up fresh lines of fire and entry points. With Sledge in hand, you can pull off impressive gameplay maneuvers and disrupt the defenders’ strategies effectively.
Jäger is a good choice for defending positions because he’s straightforward to master and operate. Additionally, his equipment enables him to eliminate incoming missiles.
Operator | Role | Primary Weapon | Secondary Weapon | Primary Gadget | Unique Ability |
Buck | Soft Breacher | C8-SFW Assault Rifle | SDP 9MM Handgun | Frag Grenade | Skeleton Key |
Hibana | Attacker | Type-89 CQB | 93R Handgun | Stun Grenades | X-Kairos Launcher |
Sledge | Attacker | L85A2 – Assault Rifle | SMG-11 – Machine Pistol | Frag Grenade | Tactical Breaching Hammer |
Ash | Attacker | R4-C – Assault Rifle | 5.7 USG – Handgun | Stun Grenades | Breaching Rounds |
Jäger | Defender | 416-C – Assault Rifle | P9 – Handgun | Barbed Wire | Magpie Defense System |
Valkyrie | Defender | MPX – Submachine Gun | Keratos.40 – Handgun | Nitro Cell | Black Eye Cameras |
Smoke | Defender | M500 – Shotgun | SMG-11 – Machine Pistol | Deployable Shield | Gas Grenade |
2 Rainbow Six Mobile – Tier A
Operators at level A may not match the skill level of those in tier S, but they’re still a reliable choice, capable of performing exceptionally well under skilled management, potentially surpassing a tier S operator.
As a gamer, I find myself often relying on Thermite when it comes to the attacking team’s support. He’s our one and only hard breacher, which makes his role crucial. Mastering Thermite takes patience, leadership skills, and clear communication, but once you get the hang of him, he becomes an absolute force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
In Tier A, there’s only one defensive player. Mastering Mute, who belongs to this tier, demands considerable skill and time. His main weapon is a shotgun, implying that close-range combat is where you should engage, and your aim needs to be precise. However, the advantage lies in the fact that you can eliminate opponents with just one well-placed shot.
Operator | Role | Primary Weapon | Secondary Weapon | Primary Gadget | Unique Ability |
Thatcher | Attacker | L1A1 – Assault Rifle | SDP 9mm – Handgun | Claymore | EMP Grenades |
Thermite | Attacker | 552-Com – Assault Rifle | 5.7 USG – Handgun | Claymore | Exothermic Charge |
Mute | Defender | M590A1 – Shotgun | AP30 – Handgun | Nitro Cell | GC90 Signal Disruptor “Jammer” |
Frost | Defender | Super 90 | AP30 – Handgun | Mk1 9mm | Welcome Mat |
3 Rainbow Six Mobile – Tier B
If the operators from tiers S and A have been selected by your teammates and there are no other unlocked ones available for you, then go ahead and choose one of the operators from the list provided instead.
Glaz is an expert at shooting accurately, skilled in stealthy entry and offering distant protection with his fire. For those who prefer engaging in combat from afar, Glaz would be your optimal pick since he’s the sole operator equipped with a special scope feature called the HDS flip sight.
From the defensive perspective, Bandit appears every bit as formidable as his appearance suggests. He ranks among the most robust operators in terms of thwarting intruders’ attempts to enter a room or protect an objective.
Operator | Role | Primary Weapon | Secondary Weapon | Primary Gadget | Unique Ability |
Glaz | Attacker | OTs-03 – Designated Marksman Rifle | AP30 – Handgun | Smoke Grenades | Thermal Flip Scope |
Twitch | Attacker | F2 – Assault Rifle | P9 – Handgun | Claymore | Shock Drone |
Bandit | Defender | MP7 – Submachine Gun | 5.7 USG – Handgun | Barbed Wire | Shock Wire |
Rook | Defender | MP5 – Submachine Gun | D-50 – Handgun | Deployable Shield | “Rhino” Armor Pack |
4 Rainbow Six Mobile – Tier C
As a fellow gamer, I’d advise steering clear of the Rainbow Six Mobile Operators categorized in Tier C. They don’t seem to contribute significantly to the field of battle, so you might want to focus on other characters instead.
Instead of using Atk Recruit and Def Recruit, which are basic and least effective choices, it’s advisable to opt for other characters whenever possible. However, should the need arise to select a Tier C attacker or defender, I would suggest going with Ying or Kapkan.
Ying’s strength may not be comprehensive, yet her equipment setup is quite sound. In contrast, Kapkan has the ability to set lethal traps. Specifically, he can position C4 explosives at key entry points that detonate upon sensing movement.
Thus concludes our ranking of Rainbow Six Mobile characters. Keep checking back for additional advice and strategies!
Operator | Role | Primary Weapon | Secondary Weapon | Primary Gadget | Unique Ability |
Ying | Attacker | T-95 LSW – Light Machine Gun | LFP 686 – Handgun | Breach Charges | Candela Device |
Caveira | Defender | Origin-12 – Shotgun | Luison – Handgun | Impact Grenade | Silent Step; Interrogation |
Kapkan | Defender | 9×19 VSN – Submachine Gun | Bailiff 410 – Handgun | Nitro Cell | EDD “Booby Trap” |
Atk Recruit | Attacker | M4 – Assault Rifle | SDP 9mm – Handgun | Breach Charges | Frag Grenade |
Def Recruit | Defender | UMP45 – Submachine Gun | 5.7 USG – Handgun | Barbed Wire | Extra Impact Grenade |
