Their power is hinted at but never fully realized, leaving their presence more like a looming expectation than a tangible threat. This lack of impact is quite frustrating. Gemma Arterton portrays Io in a calm manner, yet her character falls short on intrigue. The group of warriors that accompany Perseus on his heroic quest lack any meaningful character development, making them all indistinguishable from one another.

Clash of the Titans received a low score of 27% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Alongside a 40% rating from audiences, this suggests the film was generally poorly received. Critics found the movie dull, devoid of soul, and disorganized. The script was criticized as poor, with its complex plot offering no character development. Reviews also complained about the film’s weak use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) and disappointing special effects, particularly the rushed conversion from 2D to 3D.
