As a devoted admirer, I’m eagerly awaiting the upcoming Bollywood movie adaptation of Ramayana. I, along with many others, am excited to see Ranbir Kapoor bring Lord Rama to life on the big screen. Sai Pallavi will grace our screens as Maa Sita, and Yash has been cast as Ravana in this epic directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Interestingly, it’s been announced that Yash will be commencing filming for the movie from March, 2025.
As per the latest update in Filmfare, it’s anticipated that actor Yash will be joining the filming crew for Ramayana starting from March of this year.
Previously, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Yash shared his thoughts about portraying Ravana, stating that he found this role incredibly intriguing for an actor. He explained, “The layers and subtleties of the character are captivating to me. There’s a wide range of possibilities to interpret it uniquely. As an actor, I am genuinely thrilled about this opportunity.
The epic Ramayana is being transformed into a two-part cinematic journey. In the year 2024, Producer Namit Malhotra declared that these two movies will be released in theaters on the festive occasion of Diwali, specifically in the years 2026 and 2027.
In an Instagram post, he expressed, “Over a decade ago, I began an honorable journey to bring to life on the big screen a tale that has captivated billions of hearts for over 5000 years. Now, I’m elated to witness its transformation into a masterpiece as our crews dedicate themselves wholeheartedly, with just one goal in mind: to offer an accurate, sacred, and visually stunning portrayal of our past, our essence, and our heritage – the ‘RAMAYANA’ – for audiences worldwide.
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! We’ve been working tirelessly to bring our grandest vision to fruition, a tale that will captivate your hearts. Mark your calendars for the festive occasion of Diwali in 2026 and 2027 as we unveil Part 1 and Part 2 respectively, filled with honor and respect for the craft. Let’s embark on this journey together!
Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is immersed in filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic production Love & War, alongside his wife Alia Bhatt and Sanju co-star Vicky Kaushal. Previously, we at TopMob revealed that following the completion of Love & War, Ranbir will move on to work on Ramayana 2.
