Ranbir Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit to collaborate for a film? Actress says she'd 'definitely love to do that'

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and anticipation when it comes to the potential collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. Their chemistry in Ghagra from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was nothing short of magical, and it’s been 11 years since we last saw them share the screen.

The beloved song “Ghagra,” featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit from the 2013 movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, remains adored by fans even after a decade since its release. Although Madhuri’s role in the film was brief, her on-screen chemistry with Ranbir made quite an impression, leaving fans eager for more of their shared screen time. More recently, when asked about potential future collaborations with RK, Madhuri expressed her enthusiasm for such a project.

In a chat with Connect Cine, Madhuri Dixit expressed enthusiasm when asked about reteaming with Ranbir Kapoor post their last film Ghagra. She playfully replied, “Why not indeed!”

In her praise for Ranbir Kapoor, Madhuri expressed that he’s an exceptional actor and they had a great time collaborating during the song sequence. She noted his dedication to both dancing and acting, saying “There’s a mutual appreciation between us. I adore his performances, and if we ever get another opportunity to work together, I would jump at it.”

30 years ago, Madhuri’s film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, featuring Salman Khan as the lead actor, was released and has since been re-screened in movie theaters. This beloved musical romantic drama, directed by Sooraj Barjatya, is one of the most cherished films of its genre.

In 1994, the movie became a massive hit at cinemas and later gained significant popularity on satellite networks. The actress was recently spotted in the Amazon Prime Video production titled Maja Ma. This film, directed by Anand Tiwari, also starred Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Barkha Singh.

In December 2023, audiences last caught a glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie “Animal,” which became an enormous hit at the box office. Coming up next, he will appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly-anticipated film titled “Love & War.” This production features the star-studded cast of Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal as well, and it is scheduled to premiere on Christmas 2025.

In addition to his role, he’ll portray Lord Rama in the upcoming grand production of Ramayana, helmed by director Nitesh Tiwari. This monumental project boasts Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Yash, Lara Dutta, and others playing significant parts. Meanwhile, a follow-up to the film Animal named Animal Park is slated for release as well.
