The movie ended on a cliffhanger, hinting at its sequel, Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, which left us eagerly anticipating more. Ever since then, we’ve been on tenterhooks for any updates about the continuation of this grand tale. Now, the anticipation has reached new heights as Ranbir Kapoor himself has dropped a significant piece of news. He announced that director Ayan Mukerji is all set to begin pre-production for the highly anticipated sequel, following the completion of War 2.
In a recent gathering in Mumbai, I had the pleasure of being in the presence of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. During this interaction with the media, Ranbir shared an electrifying tidbit about Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev. He expressed that Ayan, our beloved director, has been carefully cultivating Brahmastra 2 as a long-cherished dream. As we all know, he is now focusing on War 2, and once that film hits the screens, he will immediately dive into the pre-production of Brahmastra 2.
Runbir confidently confirmed to his followers that Brahmastra 2 is indeed under development. He mentioned, “Rest assured, it’s a go. We haven’t disclosed too many details yet, but exciting updates about Brahmastra 2 are on the horizon.
2022 saw the debut of Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, marking the commencement of a trilogy with ambitions to build an expansive cinematic world rooted in Indian mythology. This movie narrates the tale of Shiva (portrayed by Ranbir), a young man endowed with extraordinary abilities, who embarks on a quest to unravel profound cosmic mysteries and discover his true destiny. Notable performances are delivered by Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna within this production.
In the professional sphere, Ranbir Kapoor will appear next in Love & War, sharing screen time with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. This film, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is slated for a theater release on March 20, 2026. Additionally, he will take on the lead role in Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial Ramayana, where he will work alongside Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Arun Govil. The first installment is planned for a Diwali 2026 premiere, with the second part following in 2027.
