Randeep Hooda admits ‘mera shaadi karne ka mood nahi tha’ before getting married to wife Lin Laishram; here’s what changed his mind

In November of 2023, Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram exchanged vows in a traditional Manipuri ceremony. Although they’ve enjoyed more than a year of wedded bliss, it was just revealed that the actor from the Jaat community had not initially planned to get married.

During an interview on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Randeep Hooda shared about his marriage to Lin Laishram and explained, “Initially, I didn’t plan on getting married because of what I had observed.

Additionally, he playfully added that he had often felt unhappy during school and contemplated not having children so they wouldn’t have to endure the same educational struggles as he did. However, he conveyed joy, explaining that somehow his path intersected with Lin Laishram.

In a lighthearted manner, the actor from Jaat region jokingly revealed to those in Haryana that he never held a government job, which supposedly delayed his marriage. When questioned about marrying a woman from the North-East, Hooda made it clear that such regions are also part of our nation. He underscored that when one is in love, factors like caste, religion, nationality, or age become inconsequential.

Additionally, he discussed obstacles he faced in his marriage journey, stating, “There were issues. Just like many others, my parents preferred me to wed within our community, which is common among Jaats. In fact, I was the first from my family to marry a person outside of our community. Initially, everyone had concerns about this, but over time, those worries subsided.

Looking back at my special day, I recall the undercurrent of tension in Manipur as I was preparing for my nuptials. Yet, I felt it was essential to uphold my wife’s heritage and honor her city, the place that holds dear significance to her and her family. So, we decided to host our wedding there, blending our love story with the rich culture that surrounded us.

Randeep pointed out that an army brigadier backed him during a time of turmoil in the region, as his relatives stayed at his residence. He mentioned that just ten people from his family were present to minimize any potential strain on the bride’s side, with more security personnel being present instead.

To wrap things up, I’m absolutely overjoyed by the outpouring of love we received for our humble nuptials! Amazingly, even without the internet, our special day was broadcast live. It’s mind-blowing to think about who went through the trouble to make that happen, but alas, I was completely clueless!
