As a lifestyle expert reflecting on the lives of celebrated personalities, I must say Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram’s love story is truly inspiring. Their bond, nurtured over years at Naseeruddin Shah‘s Motley theatre group, has blossomed into a beautiful marriage that respects and embraces tradition.
Today marks Randeep Hooda’s 48th birthday, making it an even more memorable occasion as he celebrates this milestone with his newlywed wife, Lin Laishram. The couple exchanged vows in a traditional Maeiti ceremony held on November 29 in Imphal, Manipur. Their affectionate social media posts have been a testament to their growing love story, but today we delve into the fascinating tale of how they first crossed paths.
Just prior to their wedding, Randeep Hooda and Lin made a stop at the Moirang Lamkhai relief camp and Sendra Tourist Resort. Here, they spoke to journalists about various topics. When asked to reflect on the beginning of their relationship, Randeep, according to ANI, stated that “We’ve been friends for a long time; our friendship has been strong since we first met.”
Lin promptly mentioned, “Myself and he met at Naseeruddin Shah’s theatre group named Motley; he was my senior there.” Their wedding made headlines worldwide due to its unique blend of local customs and cultures, contrasting many other celebrities who often opt for lavish Indian weddings. When Randeep learned that the groom would need to stay seated longer according to Meitei traditions, the actor appreciated this gesture as a sign of respect.
Actor Randeep Hooda shared, “I believe it’s important to honor the bride’s customs by marrying in them. I am excited for the ceremony and learning more about my partner’s culture. I just hope I don’t slip up.” Prior to this, he had lengthy discussions with his fiancee, Lin, on Manipuri traditions for quite some time before actually experiencing it.
Hooda expressed, “I’m hoping for a prosperous future brimming with many children and wealth. It’s wonderful that our friendship is deepening into a familial bond.”
In terms of work, Linthoingambi Laishram recently appeared as Prerna in Kareena Kapoor’s digital debut, Jaane Jaan. Meanwhile, Randeep has been in two films this year. He made his appearance in the social comedy Tera Kya Hoga Lovely in March, and later directed, co-wrote, and co-produced a biographical drama called Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.
