As a dedicated follower, I’d like to share that I’ve observed comedian Vir Das expressing his thoughts on the recent controversy involving YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. He’s been vocal about it through his Instagram Stories, where he’s spoken out against certain media outlets and journalists who he believes are tarnishing the reputation of new media in the heat of this ongoing dispute.

In his article, Das wrote, “Traditional media anchors who are on the verge of extinction are banding together to criticize new media outlets that have significantly more viewers, longer interviews, and greater influence at a fraction of their costs. Vir proposed that, alongside discussions about what constitutes good comedy, there should also be debates on defining good journalism and the roles of news anchors. This includes questioning which questions they should ask, and identifying whom they should direct these questions towards.

She revealed that she would feel quite scared when next time she’s up there making jokes, and she believes that young voices trying to express important ideas might be dismissed or ignored moving forward.

Mehraa made it clear she doesn’t support Ranveer’s stance, emphasizing that some subjects are off-limits due to their sacred nature. She pointed out that the ongoing controversy would indeed affect Allahbadia significantly since he’s a social media influencer, potentially impacting both his financial situation and mental well-being. Furthermore, she highlighted that in our country, parents hold a position second only to God. Therefore, Allahbadia’s statement might have gone too far.

On Samay Raina’s program, Ranveer Allahbadia posed a question to a contestant: “Imagine having to watch your parents engage in intimate acts daily for the remainder of your life. Would you choose to participate just once, after which it would never happen again?
