Ranveer Singh collapsed on sets of Lootera after he did THIS to feel pain of being shot, recalls Vikramaditya Motwane: ‘We had to chopper him out’

As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the art of acting and a keen eye for behind-the-scenes tales, I must say that Ranveer Singh is nothing short of extraordinary. His commitment to his craft is truly remarkable, often resulting in performances that leave audiences spellbound. However, it seems that this dedication occasionally veers towards the extreme, as evidenced by the anecdote shared by Vikramaditya Motwane regarding their collaboration on Lootera.

Runveer Singh is a top-notch actor who immerses himself deeply into his roles, striving for maximum realism. His commitment to his art often shines brightly in films. However, at times, he pushes so hard to convince viewers of his performances that he can injure himself unintentionally. For instance, director Vikramaditya Motwane once recounted an incident where the new father, during filming for Lootera, intentionally collapsed on set after trying to experience the sensation of being shot in the abdomen.

Vikramaditya Motwane recently spoke with Mashable India, discussing his memorable experience of working alongside Ranveer Singh during the 2013 period romantic drama film, Lootera. During their conversation, he reminisced about a time when they traveled to Dalhousie in January 2012, where heavy snowfall caused both sets to collapse. Despite this setback, they returned to the beautiful location in March to continue filming. However, only two days into production, Singh sustained an injury to his back. Showing great determination like a warrior, he persevered and continued filming despite the pain.

On the following day, the filming took place where Singh’s character was depicted extracting a bullet from his abdomen. To enhance authenticity, Ranveer Singh, star of Bajirao Mastani, inserted safety pins into his body before jogging around the hills to induce discomfort and simulate sweaty, painful appearance in the shot. Fortunately, everything went smoothly, and they successfully finished filming the scene.

After the gunfire, he eventually took out the magazine, at which point he could sense a cramp in his lower back. “As he had been experiencing side pain, he didn’t notice the back pain and just fell down,” said the director, who also mentioned, “The following day, we had to airlift him from Dalhousie due to his condition, causing us to cancel the shooting schedule.

Simultaneously, in his professional life, the new father eagerly anticipates the premiere of his initial film for 2024 titled Singham Again. Directed by Rohit Shetty, this action-packed movie includes actors like Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. The film, which is Rohit Shetty’s first attempt at screenwriting, is planned for release during Diwali, specifically on November 1, 2024.
