In a recent Instagram post, Stevens shared insights on how the actor prepared for his role in Befikre. “The secret was to keep things straightforward, consistent effort and dedication – that’s all there is to it,” he wrote. During an interview with Vogue, Mustafa Ahmed, who was Ranveer’s trainer during the filming of Padmaavat, revealed the types of workouts the actor engaged in. In the mornings, they’d typically engage in a cardio workout lasting around 20-25 minutes, followed by a flexibility drill. The entire morning session would only take 40-45 minutes due to time constraints. Evening workouts were more comprehensive, involving an hour or even up to 1.5 hours of weight training and heavy lifting. Mustafa suggested taking one day off per week for rest, but if Ranveer felt compelled to exercise, he was advised to swim instead. The trainer further explained this regimen.

The trainer revealed that for Ranveer, the initial advice was to eliminate all forms of sugar from his eating routine, which we strictly followed. Before and during Padmaavat, he had been sugar-free for six months. He was allowed two cheat meals per week, which he could enjoy at any time during the week. Interestingly, he often opted to have both cheat meals on the same day, enabling him to indulge in a full cheat day. On his cheat days, he could consume sweets, junk food, and practically anything he desired.
