Ratan Tata Passes Away: Did you know late industrialist has Bollywood and Amitabh Bachchan connection? Find out

As a humble admirer of the great Ratan Tata, I find myself deeply saddened by the news of his demise. His remarkable journey from leading the Tata Group to co-producing a Bollywood film like Aetbaar showcases an extraordinary blend of business acumen and artistic curiosity. It’s fascinating to think that the man behind some of India’s most iconic industrial ventures also had a hand in creating a psychological thriller.

As a devoted admirer, I’m saddened to share that the illustrious industrialist, Ratan Tata, passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 86. His life was marked by an exceptional legacy as he transformed the Tata Group into a globally revered conglomerate. What many might not know is that this icon also ventured into Bollywood film production. In 2004, he collaborated on the production of Aetbaar, a romantic psychological thriller directed by Vikram Bhatt. This movie featured notable Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, and Bipasha Basu.

Ratan Tata collaborated with Jatin Kumar in producing the film, Aetbaar. This movie drew inspiration from the 1996 Hollywood thriller Fear and explored topics such as fixation and familial ties.

The narrative revolves around Dr. Ranveer Malhotra, played by Bachchan, who is a dedicated father ready to go to great lengths to protect his daughter Ria, played by Bipasha Basu, from Aryan Trivedi, portrayed by John Abraham. Aryan is shown as an intense lover with a questionable past.

The story gets trickier as Ria finds herself with feelings for Aryan, leading to family friction among the close-knit group. Unfortunately, when it premiered, Aetbaar didn’t perform well financially, collecting just Rs 7.96 crore. Notably, this is the only film that Ratan Tata has ever produced, with a production cost of Rs 9.50 crore.

On the evening of October 9, Ratan Tata, a well-known figure, unfortunately passed away. He had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to a sudden decrease in blood pressure, and he was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The news of his passing was shared after midnight on the same day.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but sing praises about Ratan Tata. His transformative leadership within the Tata Group and his charitable initiatives have made him an adored figure in my heart and throughout India.

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, his earthly remains will be exhibited at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in southern Mumbai from 10 am to 4 pm. This is an opportunity for people to express their condolences. Later in the day, his final funeral rituals will occur in the Worli district of Mumbai.
