As a huge fan of Rebecca Ferguson‘s impressive acting career, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that she’s joining Cillian Murphy in the upcoming “Peaky Blinders” movie on Netflix. Her addition to this beloved series is a testament to her versatility as an actress and her ability to bring complex characters to life.
Actress Rebecca Ferguson, known for her roles in “Mission: Impossible” and “Dune,” will team up with Cillian Murphy in the upcoming film version of “Peaky Blinders” for Netflix.
Netflix gave approval for the production of the movie, which is inspired by the popular show and features Murphy portraying Thomas Shelby, a former soldier turned criminal mastermind in 1900s Birmingham. The movie is referred to as a “follow-up” rather than a direct continuation of the series, with specifics about the storyline and Ferguson’s involvement yet to be revealed.
When the project was unveiled, Murphy remarked in a statement, “It’s as if Tommy Shelby hadn’t had his fill of me yet…”
Steven Knight, the mastermind behind Peaky Blinders, wrote the script for the upcoming film. Tom Harper, previously involved in directing some episodes of the show’s first season, will now be in charge of its direction.
Caryn Mandabach, Murphy, and Guy Heeley will join Knight as co-producers. Production will take place with the collaboration of BBC Film.
Ferguson recently appeared in cinemas for the second part of “Dune’s” film series. Following this, she has two new projects: the second season of Apple’s science fiction show “Silo,” and a sci-fi thriller titled “Mercy” on Amazon MGM, where she will act alongside Chris Pratt.
