In a recent chat with Times of India, Dia Mirza shared that she and her team felt extremely disheartened when Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein bombed at the box office. Later on, however, the film gained popularity amongst the public via online platforms like electronic media and social networks. Unfortunately, due to its initial failure, Dia was also dropped from several projects following its release.

Reflecting back, the actress from RHTDM noted that the movie’s fame expanded when it was broadcast on TV. Over time, it received an additional surge of popularity on social media platforms.

Dia discussed how Rehnaa Hai… has gained a “cult following,” as the audience remains enamored with the 2001 film. At age 42, the actress admitted that its acclaim revealed to her that it truly resonates with movie enthusiasts.

During that same interview, the actress from Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein opened up about her time collaborating with R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan on set. At the time, Dia was a fresh face in the industry. She affectionately referred to Madhavan as her “teacher” during production, as he offered valuable guidance throughout the film’s creation. Dia also expressed that her fellow actor truly embodied gentlemanly behavior.

Under the direction of Gautham Vasudev Menon, the film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein is scheduled for re-release on August 30, 2024. Originally released as a romantic drama in 2001, this movie was actually a remake of Menon’s Tamil film Minnale, which also starred R Madhavan. In the film, Madhavan portrayed Shastri (also known as Maddy), while Dia Mirza played Reena Malhotra. Saif Ali Khan’s character was named Rajeev Samra, or simply Sam. Apart from these main stars, Anupam Kher, Vrajesh Hirjee, and Navin Nischol took on significant roles in the movie.

In terms of her professional endeavors, Dia Mirza’s series titled IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack made its debut on Netflix on August 29th.
