Approximately one year has passed since the final episode of Season 3 of “Resident Alien” aired, leaving fans eagerly anticipating news about when Season 4 will be released. Interestingly, the cast members of this popular sci-fi comedy series are hinting that we might not have to wait too long for its return. First premiered in 2021, “Resident Alien” follows the story of an alien (played by Alan Tudyk) who is sent to eliminate humans but instead ends up crashing on Earth and deciding to stay, eventually finding himself protecting humanity instead.
Over the weekend at Fan Expo Vancouver (as reported by The Direct), actor Alan Tudyk was joined by his co-stars Alice Wetterlund (as D’arcy Bloom) and Sara Tomko (Asta Twelvetrees) for a chat about the popular show “Resident Alien”. This series, based on comics by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, has won many hearts thanks to Tudyk’s captivating performance in his fish-out-of-water character and its skillful blend of humor and drama that delicately addresses real-world issues. When the crowd asked about when Season 4 might be released, Tudyk hinted:
I feel like you should get it before the end of 2025.
Indeed, it’s a certainty. They appear to be rushing things for that specific reason. We’re unsure of the exact timeline, but there’s a sense that they aim to broadcast it this year. That’s the vibe I’m getting. The sci-fi series Resident Alien is transitioning from SyFy to USA Network for Season 4. Unlike the first three seasons which debuted early in their respective years (January and February), this one seems to follow a different pace. Filming is still underway in Vancouver, and if everything goes smoothly, it’s expected to wrap by the end of March. However, as Tudyk cautioned, “You never know.” He further explained:
Originally, our show aired on Syfy for three seasons. Now, it has moved over to USA Network. Interestingly, they correctly spell its name on this new channel. I used to find the old spelling, S-Y-F-Y, quite annoying. To clarify, it’s still the same show. According to our boss, we should be wrapping things up soon. We are nearing completion and expect to finish within the next week.
‘Resident Alien’ Has Impressed a Lot of People
So far, the series Resident Alien has been a major success among both viewers and critics, who generally share positive opinions about it. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts an impressive 97% rating from experts, while its Popcornmeter, as rated by fans, stands at 86%. As one RT user, Anthony O, put it, “We just put this on to pass the time while doing chores, but now we’re both completely hooked.” Another viewer, James S, praised the show and its lead actor, Alan Tudyk, saying, “He’s such a fantastic performer, and this series is delightful. It may not have profound writing, but it has heart.
If you’re eagerly awaiting the release of Resident Alien Season 4, or simply want a reminder before it airs later this year, you can stream all three seasons currently on Peacock. If you don’t have a subscription to Peacock, the series is also available for viewing on Netflix.
