Looking forward to Rick and Morty‘s Season 8 in late May? The show has given us an enticing hint that will surely make the countdown to its release agonizingly long. Already marked as a must-watch on my 2025 TV lineup, I’m even more thrilled now with the possibility of a third Interdimensional Cable episode!
I was quite excited when I learned that Season 8 would seemingly poke fun at the show’s own headline-making recasting of its main characters, following co-creator Justin Roiland’s firing a few years ago. Now, my excitement has grown even more after Adult Swim shared an animatic video, which not only unveiled new episode titles and visual hints, but also seems to connect to Interdimensional Cable. Check out the screenshot below for “Ricker Than Fiction,” and read on for more details:

I was super hyped when I heard Season 8 would take digs at the show’s own headline-making recasting of its main characters after Justin Roiland got canned a few years ago. Now, I’m even more psyched since Adult Swim dropped an animatic video, which not only showed new episode titles and visual hints, but also seems to be connected to Interdimensional Cable. I was pretty stoked when I heard Season 8 would make fun of the show’s own headline-making recasting of its main characters after Justin Roiland got kicked out a few years ago. Now, I can hardly wait since Adult Swim posted an animatic video with new episode titles and visual hints that seem connected to Interdimensional Cable. The pair observing bizarre beings in a thrilling TV show makes me think of “Interdimensional Television,” and it wouldn’t be too unexpected if the episode format reappeared. The Season 1 episode “Rixty Minutes” is still one of the greatest Rick and Morty episodes, so influential that the Season 3 installment “Morty’s Mind Blowers” joked about replacing the cable TV theme.
In Season 7, there was a hint of its return as we witnessed the Mr. Stabby talk show, where a host brutally stabbed audience members on stage. This humorous skit used the Interdimensional Cable box, but lacked the collection of random, impromptu storylines that made the initial seasons unique and captivating. Here’s to hoping that Season 8 will satisfy the craving left unfulfilled in the last season.

Absolutely, it’s quite possible that Dan Harmon and the team behind the hit series have picked up on the fervor among fans for another Interdimensional Cable episode. It wouldn’t surprise me if they strategically included that scene to generate excitement, only to then surprise us all by going in a different, equally engaging direction instead.
Despite facing trolling, the intriguing snippets in this video have me eagerly anticipating the complete storyline. Take a look at the entire video below, and ponder about the potential plot twists in “Hot Rick”.
Aside from the hint given by Interdimensional Cable, what I’m really looking forward to is the season finale, where Rick attaches Jerry to a mysterious device. I won’t try to predict where this goes, but I always enjoy episodes where Jerry and Rick are entangled in an entire storyline together. It’s usually quite distressing for Jerry, but let’s face it, Rick Sanchez isn’t exactly known for his kindness.
Get ready and power up your portal gadget! The exciting adventures of Rick and Morty are returning to Adult Swim on Sunday, May 25th, at 11:00 p.m. ET. I can hardly wait for the premiere, so here’s hoping this new season lives up to past ones!
