As an ardent follower of the Kapoor family, I have always admired their strength and resilience, especially during challenging times. The loss of Rishi Kapoor was undeniably a significant blow, and it’s heartbreaking to see his family go through such grief. Yet, they have shown an unparalleled courage that is truly inspiring.
Rishi Kapoor’s passing came as a profound shock to his immediate family, leaving his wife Neetu Kapoor and children, Riddhima and Ranbir Kapoor, in deep mourning. More recently, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni shared an experience where people criticized the family for appearing cheerful following their loss. She clarified that such individuals lack insight into the trials her family has faced, and their remarks were thoughtless and hurtful.
Following the passing of the actor from Mulk, I found myself, along with the rest of the Kapoor family, initially grappling with our emotions in silence. Recently, during an interview with Galatta India for Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives Season 3, my sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni bravely addressed the thoughtless ridicule and criticism we’ve faced when appearing happy in photos or public appearances after our loss.
Sahni expressed her admiration for her mother, Neetu Kapoor, as she displayed courage during a challenging time. Unfortunately, they received numerous critical comments from people unaware of their personal struggles.
She mentioned, “Others often commented, ‘They seem so joyful, out and about, engaged in activities.’ Yet, you need to witness the reality once you return home.
Riddhima pointed out that they seemed fine and cheerful from the outside, yet were grappling with hardships in their private life. Just because they didn’t openly show their pain, it didn’t imply they weren’t hurting, and others should have empathized with their situation.
She stated, “Just because someone is accused of being privileged and having many resources, it doesn’t mean they don’t struggle with their own insecurities. How can we be certain of the challenges they may be dealing with?
Previously, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Sahni shared that following the death of her father, Rishi Kapoor, they didn’t express their feelings towards one another in the family. However, this event served to draw them even closer together.
She shared that they would retreat to different spaces to weep, letting out their feelings intensely before resuming as if nothing had happened. This experience has surprisingly strengthened their bond.
In 2020, Rishi Kapoor sadly lost his life after a prolonged fight against cancer. His daughter, Riddhima, who has usually shied away from the spotlight, has established herself in jewelry design. However, she has recently ventured into show business, appearing alongside Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari, Seema Sajdeh, Shalini Passi, and Kalyani on Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives Season 3.
