Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken Donate $1M  to Trump-Vance Fund

As a seasoned researcher with a keen interest in both politics and technology, particularly cryptocurrencies, I find myself intrigued by this unique intersection of industries. The recent donations from Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, Ondo, and others to the Trump-Vance inaugural committee are indeed an interesting development.

Each of the cryptocurrency platforms – Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and Ondo – contributed a million dollars apiece to the Trump-Vance inaugural fund, igniting anticipation for the forthcoming celebration events.

The three-day event leading up to Donald Trump’s and Vice President-elect JD Vance’s inauguration in January received significant financial backing from the cryptocurrency sector.

As reported by FOX Business, Ripple – the leading blockchain payments company – has promised a contribution of $5 million in XRP tokens. Meanwhile, Coinbase, Ondo, and Kraken have confirmed their respective donations worth $1 million each. MoonPay is also planning to make a donation, though the exact amount they will contribute remains undisclosed at this time.

Kara Calvert, Vice President of U.S. Policy at Coinbase, expressed support for the Trump administration’s efforts to establish more definitive regulations for cryptocurrencies. Arjun Sethi, co-CEO of Kraken, shared this positive outlook and commended the Trump administration for its pro-crypto stance, calling it a significant shift for the industry.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse welcomed Trump’s crypto-friendly picks, including Paul Atkins for SEC Chair and David Sacks as the first crypto and AI “czar.” The Trump administration has also nominated crypto advocates for key roles, signaling a regulatory shift.

Tech magnates such as Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, and others have not been idle in the political scene. They have each pledged $1 million, while some have met with Trump to solidify relationships. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev took it a step further by committing $2 million, signifying a growing alliance between tech leaders and the current administration.

The Trump-Vance inaugural fundraising effort has broken records with an already raised sum of $200 million, outdoing previous inaugurations. Predictions indicate this figure could grow to $225 million by Inauguration Day, underscoring a widespread backing for the incoming administration.

Under Trump’s pledges to foster cryptocurrency advancement and bring in regulation-friendly figures, the crypto sphere anticipates a more illuminated path under his administration. As the inauguration approaches, the donations serve as a testament to the industry’s faith in a fresh chapter of regulatory certainty.
