3 months following its triumphant launch, Color Gray Games and Playstack reveal fresh details on the upcoming DLC for Rise of the Golden Idol – their detective-style game reminiscent of Lucas Pope’s Obra Dinn return.
The Downloadable Content (DLC) is due for release around March, offering four fresh cases that seem to unfold post-events from the main game.
Titled “The Crimes of New Wells,” this four-part expansion finds players embarking on another detective story. In this expansion, an unnamed homicide investigator and his partner Cliff Savea are tasked with solving a string of gruesome crimes linked to Lemurian Magic, which aligns with the game’s unusual supernatural artifact, the Golden Idol.
The Golden Idol’s Rising is the follow-up to the beloved detective puzzle game created by Latvian siblings Ernests and Andrejs Kļaviņš. This subsequent installment significantly boosted the game’s unforeseen fame, which was facilitated by its supportive fanbase enthusiastically spreading the word about the game’s intriguing concept. A conversation led by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg delved into the origins of the series and offered insights into their unique choice for this peculiar indie production.
