Robert Pattinson DESTROYS Twilight Haters: 17 Years Later, He’s FINALLY Speaking Out!

In popular culture, it occasionally becomes fashionable for people to criticize certain things intensely. Over time, films like superhero movies and Coldplay may find themselves under attack, but the Twilight series seems to be a consistent target of criticism from film enthusiasts. However, Robert Pattinson, who gained fame through this franchise, urges fans to let it go and move forward.

As a dedicated cinephile, I stepped into the role of Edward Cullen, the captivating vampire lead, in all five films of the enchanting Twilight saga. In these magical journeys, I shared the screen with the mesmerizing Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan and the charismatic Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black. The initial chapter, simply titled Twilight, graced our screens in 2008, while the final act, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, was unveiled only four years later in 2012.

Through DiscussingFilm, Pattinson expressed that those who criticize Twilight should move forward with their lives. He found it intriguing when people told him, “Dude, Twilight ruined the vampire genre,” the actor shared. Since the release of Twilight, the vampire genre has experienced a revival, even though few other films depict the blood-thirsty creatures as the sparkling lovers portrayed in the Twilight saga. Movies such as Only Lovers Left Alive, What We Do in the Shadows, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, and the recently released Nosferatu offer diverse perspectives on the vampire genre.

Initially, Pattinson was among the displeased fans, frequently criticizing the Twilight movies following their release. However, 17 years later, with the first installment having been out for so long, he has moved on and encourages others to do the same. “Are you still stuck in that nonsense?” he asked. “It’s hard to believe something from nearly 20 years ago could still make you upset! It’s quite bizarre.” If he finds Twilight criticism tough, he should be grateful he wasn’t cast in a Star Wars movie instead.

‘Twilight’ is Getting a Reboot

Regardless of your feelings towards it, the Twilight series continues to captivate pop culture discussions. The original films have dedicated followers who visit Veronia and Portland in Oregon annually to celebrate the movies and their fandom. Now, a fresh wave of Twilight enthusiasts are soon to be acquainted with Bella, Edward, and Jacob’s love triangle, as the franchise is planning a comeback.

2023 saw the announcement that a fresh television adaptation of “Twilight” is being developed at Lionsgate Television, with author Stephenie Meyer deeply involved in the new production. Initially, it was thought that this project would follow the live-action format, similar to the forthcoming animated reboot of “Harry Potter” on HBO, which was also announced around the same period. However, last year, Netflix secured the rights for the series, and they subsequently revealed that the upcoming show will be an animated adaptation.

Titled “Midnight Sun”, this eight-part show has been commissioned directly for production by the streaming service. Sinead Daly, who previously worked on “Raised by Wolves”, is penning and overseeing the new series. As of now, there are no significant announcements regarding casting.
