Robert Pattinson Eyed for Villain Role in ‘Dune: Messiah’

It’s possible that Timothée Chalamet could face a challenge from Robert Pattinson in the upcoming movie “Dune: Messiah,” as reports suggest that Pattinson might be considering the part of the main antagonist. If cast, he may portray Scytale, a character from Frank Herbert’s books.

As a die-hard fan, I haven’t received any direct offers yet, but my schedule is packed with exciting projects. I’m set to star in the sequel to ‘The Batman’, directed by Matt Reeves, and I’ll also be gracing the screen in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of ‘The Odyssey’. Can’t wait to share these incredible journeys with all of you!

Similar to Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, the director of Dune, is renowned for drawing top-tier talent who are excited about collaborating with him. The films Dune and Dune: Part Two boasted an illustrious ensemble consisting of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, and numerous others. Released simultaneously on streaming platforms in 2021 during the pandemic, the original Dune grossed $410 million worldwide, while the sequel, Dune 2, released in 2024, generated a global box office revenue of $714.6 million.

1969 saw the release of Herbert’s “Messiah,” which unfolds 12 years after the incidents in “Dune.” In this continuation, Paul Atreides has ascended to the position of Emperor and is married to Princess Irulan. However, he also maintains a romantic connection with his concubine, Chani.

The upcoming movie titled “Dune: Messiah” is scheduled for filming this summer, with a planned release date of December 18, 2026, by Warner Bros. Director Denis Villeneuve has announced that this will be his last film in the Dune series as he moves on to new ventures after its completion.

Known for his silence, there was no statement made regarding the selection of Robert Pattinson, who previously appeared in ‘Mickey 17’ under Warner Bros. His representation includes WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.
