As a longtime fan of Rockstar Games, this news about Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare coming to PC has me practically dancing in my boots! I’ve been waiting for this day ever since the grand adventure that was Red Dead Redemption 2. Although I’ve managed to play the first game via emulation, it’s always been a bit like catching fish with a fishing pole made of twigs – fun, but not quite the real deal.

More recently, it was revealed by Rockstar Games that the classic title, Red Dead Redemption, together with its Undead Nightmare DLC, is slated for a PC release on October 29, 2024. The upcoming PC version appears to be a direct port of the original, boasting several new enhancements such as native 4K resolution, Ultrawide, and Super Ultrawide monitor compatibility.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that the official Rockstar website mentions some fantastic features for the Red Dead Redemption port. Not only will it offer HDR10 and full keyboard & mouse functionality, but it’s also optimized for performance with support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies. Additionally, it includes NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and a host of other enhancements!

Rockstar is set to provide additional information next week, which will include guidance on pre-ordering Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare for PC. At this point, they’ve merely indicated that the Rockstar Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store will be the platforms where the port can be purchased, but the pricing details have yet to be disclosed.
