As a long-time fan of Rocksteady Studios and the Batman: Arkham series, I must admit that I was initially disappointed with their latest release, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It felt like they strayed too far from what made their previous games great – deep, immersive storytelling and engaging gameplay. But now, hearing about their new project in the works has me hopeful once again.
Story Highlights
- Rocksteady Studios is the creator of the Batman: Arkham franchise, now succeeded by Suicide Squad.
- As per information hosted online, the developer is working on another project.
- Fans speculate that this could be a full-fledged Batman game like from the Arkham series.
Rocksteady Studios, well-known for developing the Batman: Arkham series, appears to have missed the mark with their latest title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Instead of building upon what made their Batman games successful, this release is a live service third-person shooter, and it seems to fall short in terms of gameplay quality and depth.
Could the developer possibly continue to rectify mistakes moving forward? I truly hope that’s the case. As per Tae Ho Kang’s LinkedIn profile, who serves as a Senior Systems Programmer at Rocksteady, it appears that the developer has already initiated work on their next endeavor. (Thank you Timur222 for the suggestion)
The surprise game being developed has been underway since June 2024, which is not too far off in the future. Therefore, it’s likely we won’t receive any official news about it for some time. Regrettably, there isn’t much else to share at this point.
As a fan, I must admit that deciphering what’s coming next is like trying to solve a puzzle. If I were to venture a guess, it would be no more than speculation at best. It could potentially mean the return of the Batman: Arkham series, shining once again as it did before in all its glory. However, there’s always the possibility that we might be facing another live service game. Let’s hope for the best!
Suicide Squad’s Release Has Killed A Lot Of Dreams
It was clear from the moment Suicide Squad was launched that the game was destined to fail. Shortly after its early release, there was a significant increase in requests for refunds, with many players eager to get their money back. The lack of originality and glaring plot holes have made the game a complete disaster, and it may not be long before it is shut down.
In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (2023), each character, even King Shark, is armed with a firearm. This was an attempt by the game developers to capture the attention of DC Studios’ CEO, James Gunn, by showcasing an impressive array of weaponry.
