As a long-time fan of Rod Stewart, it’s been quite a rollercoaster ride these past few days. The man has been performing tirelessly for decades, and it seems even a summer strain of COVID-19 and a case of strep throat aren’t going to slow him down for too long!
Rod Stewart is delaying two additional performances, not long after cancelling his 200th concert in Las Vegas.
On Instagram this past Friday, the renowned vocalist expressed that unfortunately, his concerts scheduled for tonight in Stateline, NV and on August 10th in Lincoln, CA have been delayed due to his recovery from a recent bout of COVID-19 during the summer.
He mentioned that the two affected shows during his North American tour are now scheduled for August 20th and August 18th. “Please keep your tickets, as they will still be valid for the new dates,” he stated in conclusion.
As a long-time fan of Stewart and having attended several shows during his impressive 13-year residency at Caesars Palace, I was truly disappointed to learn that he had to cancel his Aug. 7 performance due to strep throat. I can only imagine the effort it takes for him to put on such a high-energy show night after night, and I have the utmost respect for his dedication to his craft. I hope for a speedy recovery and look forward to attending another one of his shows in the future.
“He expressed his deep disappointment in being unable to attend the 200th show celebration due to illness, stating that while others might manage with strep throat, he was not one of them. He had been eagerly anticipating this concert for a long time and felt truly sorry for any trouble this may have caused.”
The Las Vegas performance was set to close out the singer’s residency, which initially launched in 2011, before he headed out on his 2024 North American tour. But Stewart announced on Wednesday the residency will “now be returning in 2025” for The Encore Shows.
As someone who has been following Neil Young’s career for decades, I am thrilled to hear about his upcoming tour and Las Vegas residency in 2024. Having attended several of his concerts over the years, I can attest to the energy and passion he brings to each performance. The fact that he is extending his tour through September and will be performing in Europe adds an extra layer of excitement to the anticipation. Furthermore, I am particularly intrigued by his new Las Vegas residency, as it provides a unique opportunity to experience his music up close and personal. Overall, these upcoming events promise to be a remarkable addition to Neil Young’s already impressive legacy and a must-see for any music lover.
