Round one of the PUBG Mobile World Cup is complete, with the main event coming soon

  • PUBG Mobile’s Esports World Cup tournament has closed its first stage
  • The 24 teams have now been halved, down to 12
  • And we’ve still got the final stage to go!

As someone who follows esports closely, I can tell you that last weekend was particularly exciting with major news breaking out of Saudi Arabia. If, like me, you’ve been keeping up with the latest developments, you might already know that the first stage of the PUBG Mobile World Cup has come to an end. This global tournament, featuring teams from all corners of the world, promises a prize pool of an impressive $3 million.

As a passionate gamer, I’d be happy to share some background information if you’ve missed our previous articles about the Esports World Cup (EWC) and its connection to PUBG Mobile. The EWC is an exciting offshoot of Gamers8, a colossal event happening in Saudi Arabia this year. This esports-focused extravaganza aims to introduce some of the most popular gaming titles to the Saudi Arabian community.

With PUBG Mobile being among the successful contenders, Alliance is currently in the top position as the number of competing teams has been reduced from 24 to just 12. After this weekend’s events, the qualifying teams will have a week-long break before the final stage of the PUBG Mobile World Cup, which will take place on July 27th and 28th.

Worldwide

The PUBG Mobile World Cup has generated significant buzz in the Esports community, though it remains to be seen how well it will be received by fans in the long run. It’s important to mention that the PUBG Mobile World Cup isn’t the largest esports event for the game, and with other notable tournaments scheduled for this year, it may lose some attention.

Despite preferring not to wait until the weekend, you can witness the intense Survival Stage competition between the 12 teams on July 23rd and 24th. They’ll be fighting for just two coveted spots on the main stage. Trust me, it’s going to be a thrilling and nail-biting experience!
