‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ Spinoffs Nab New Seasons

As a seasoned gamer of reality TV shows, I can’t help but feel like I’ve just hit the jackpot with the latest announcements from the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe! With 17 seasons of pure entertainment on MTV and countless spin-offs, it seems that World of Wonder Productions has taken the concept of drag race to a whole new level.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race universe just got extended with new series orders.

In the debut of RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars, MTV and Paramount+ have commissioned additional seasons for RuPaul’s Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, and the spin-off series RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Untucked.

In other words, RuPaul’s Drag Race is set to air its 17th season on MTV. Originating on Logo in 2009, Drag Race has since grown globally, with regional adaptations in countries like the U.K., Canada, and Australia, showcasing local drag performers and fashion challenges.

The popular reality show competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” along with its offshoots, are all manufactured by the production company World of Wonder Productions. RuPaul serves as an executive producer for “Drag Race” in collaboration with Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato from World of Wonder.

Additionally, the Emmy-winning after-show “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked” will be back for another season. This latest installment of the “Drag Race” franchise comes as RuPaul earns his ninth consecutive nomination for outstanding reality or reality competition series host at the Emmys.

The popular show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” received nominations across eight Emmy categories. Starting on August 16, “RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars” will air on Paramount+, where drag queens will battle it out to become the “Queen of the Mothertucking World”. The winner will receive a prize of $200,000, a place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame’s International Pavilion.

The American version of ‘Drag Race’ has been aired across various cable networks that are currently part of the Paramount system, transitioning from the LGBTQ channel Logo, to VH1, then to MTV, and it is now streamed on Paramount+.
