Rupert Friend Readying for Close-Up in ‘Photo Booth’ Opposite Lily James and Raffey Cassidy

Rupert Friend is ready to strike a pose opposite Lily James and Raffey Cassidy in Photo Booth.

The movie signifies the first full-length directorial venture of Spencer and Lloyd Harvey, two talented sibling directors and artists in photography. Known as an intense drama, the film presents James as Jean, a well-known performance artist who has consistently prioritized ambition over family. Following another heartbreaking incident in her quest to conceive with her spouse Ben, portrayed by Friend, their meticulously constructed life and relationship begin to disintegrate. In a surprising turn of events, Ben admits to an alcohol-fueled affair with Millie, the character played by Cassidy, who later discovers she is pregnant. In a daring decision, Jean welcomes Millie into their household.

Filming for the project is slated to begin in October, with locations in Australia and London. Cathy Konrad’s Tree Line Films, along with Parodos Productions owned by James and Gala Gordon, Carver Films based in Australia, and Sarah Shaw and Anna McLeish are jointly producing this venture. HanWay films and UTA Independent Film Group will be responsible for sales during the ongoing Cannes Film Festival.

The ‘Photo Booth’ movie represents the tale we felt compelled to share, one rich with themes of legacy and the decisions that shape us. As both siblings and directors, we’ve consistently been captivated by emotionally intricate narratives that explore self-expression and identity. This production is deeply significant to us, and with the phenomenal Lily James portraying our spirited character Jean, we’re confident her performance will be electrifying. We eagerly anticipate sharing this work with the world.

Gabrielle Stewart, CEO of HanWay Films, commented: “Photo Booth” is an engaging tale that delves deep into complex relationships. Rupert Friend joins the cast as a formidable adversary for Lily James in this gripping three-person drama. Cathy Konrad’s brilliant production, along with Lily James and Gala Gordon, adds to the anticipation. This award-winning screenplay is generating a lot of buzz as we approach Cannes.

This weekend, my friend will be returning to the Palais for the world debut of Wes Anderson’s movie titled “The Phoenician Scheme“. Additionally, he has several upcoming projects including a role alongside Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali in “Jurassic World Rebirth“, Michel Franco’s film “Dreams“, and Lucio Castro’s movie “After His Death“. He is represented by multiple agencies such as United Talent Agency (UTA), Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Imprint, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.
