Several Star Wars films are under development at the moment, but only The Mandalorian and Grogu have confirmed release dates, set for May 2026. Interestingly, an unannounced production is making progress, as Ryan Gosling is being considered for the lead role. Knowing this, I can’t help but hope that he collaborates with his partner from The Fall Guy, Emily Blunt, in this new Star Wars adventure.
Excitingly, I’ve just stumbled upon some intriguing news! As reported by THR, Ryan Gosling is in discussions to take on a role in Shawn Levy’s upcoming standalone Star Wars film. Since late last year, Levy, known for his work on Deadpool and Wolverine, has been tapped to helm this new theatrical chapter for the franchise. Interestingly, Jonathan Tropper, who previously collaborated with Levy on This is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, is penning the script. Details about the plot are scarce at this point, but we do know that whatever Levy and Tropper are concocting won’t be connected to the Skywalker Saga.
