Ryan Reynolds Parodies Netflix’s Holiday Hit ‘Hot Frosty’ For Aviation Gin

As a long-time enthusiast of holiday movies and a follower of Ryan Reynolds‘ creative endeavors, I must say that this year’s lineup is shaping up quite nicely, especially with his latest Aviation Gin ad titled “Hot Frosty.” I’ve always admired how he manages to inject humor into the most unexpected places, and this snowman-centric spoof is no exception.

Ryan Reynolds is adding his unique humor to the festive period by creating a funny spin-off of Netflix’s popular romantic comedy. In an amusing advertisement for Aviation Gin, Reynolds lends his voice to a muscular snowman who looks remarkably like himself. This commercial humorously imitates the Netflix holiday romance that revolves around a widow animating a snowman. Unlike _Hot Frosty_, which focuses on the snowman’s quest for love, Reynolds’ ad takes a different route and features an unexpected conclusion for its snowman character. Instead of pursuing romantic entanglements with a chiseled snowman, this time our protagonist is drawn towards a bottle of gin.

Reynolds and his Maximum Effort emblem consistently come up with witty advertisements for their gin brand. In the past year alone, they’ve produced two standout holiday ads that left a lasting impression. The ad titled Just Friendsgiving featured Reynolds reconnecting with Amy Smart, his co-star from Just Friends. For their Christmas ad, named Gingle Bells, Reynolds rhythmically tapped martinis to the melody of “Jingle Bells.

On November 13, “Hot Frosty” made its entrance on the streaming platform, becoming the most-watched movie of the week with a staggering 16 million views. With holiday rom-coms being all the rage this season, it’s no surprise that this charming film has captured viewers’ hearts and critical acclaim. Dustin Milligan, known for his role in “Schitt’s Creek,” delivers an outstanding performance as the leading character. He shares the screen with Lacey Chabert, a familiar face in holiday movies who is often hailed as the “Queen of Hallmark Christmas Movies.” In this film, Chabert plays Kathy, a woman who imbues life into a charming snowman named Jack (or Hot Frosty). As Jack’s innocence guides Kathy on her journey to healing and rediscovering love, the story revolves around the challenge of Jack being, after all, just a snowman and winter’s fleeting nature. Alongside Chabert and Milligan, “Hot Frosty” also features Lauren Holly, Joe Lo Truglio, and Craig Robinson.

Netflix Sets its Sights on Christmas

Netflix has established itself as a major contender in the holiday film genre, debuting hits such as the Princess Switch series, the A Christmas Prince series, Holidate, and Single All the Way. Recently added to the streaming platform is The Merry Gentleman, featuring Chad Michael Murray, which swiftly climbed to the top position. This film tells a timeless Christmas story about a former city dancer who organizes an all-male Christmas spectacle in an attempt to save her family’s business. Although it hasn’t been well-received by critics, it’s challenging not to be charmed by a holiday movie starring Chad Michael Murray, known for his roles in One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls.

Upcoming in Netflix’s holiday schedule is “Our Little Secret” starring Lindsay Lohan, set to debut on November 27th. This romantic comedy finds Lohan and Ian Harding from “Pretty Little Liars” reunited for Christmas as they discover their current partners are siblings. “Our Little Secret” marks Lohan’s second Christmas movie for Netflix (she was in “Falling for Christmas” last year), and her third project overall with the streaming service, following her lead role in “Irish Wish” earlier this year. The film is directed by Stephen Herek and features Kristin Chenoweth and Jon Rudnitsky alongside Lohan.

Meanwhile, regarding festive updates, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds hinted at a comeback by posting an Instagram story featuring a video of him dressed as Deadpool alongside Santa’s sleigh.
